Today is Anzac Day and I missed the atmosphere of past Anzac Days when I would either be watching my Dad march in the parade or my kids marching. While in Charters Towers many of the children participated. Simon marched as a scout, a venturer and an air cadet. Kat marched with her school and Robyn marched with her Brownie pack.
Dad (Brian Gibson) who was in the RAAF in WWII marched today in Pt Lincoln. The first
picture is of Dad in Borneo during the war. The second of him in uniform. and the third one of him marching in an ANZAC Day march. It was pretty special as Dad's grandson was a cadet and is holding the air force banner and so they marched together for several years.
(This shot taken about 2004) Dad is the person on the left of the picture.
This last picture is of my Uncle Bram who was in the RAAF reserves.
Weren't they handsome men :) and still are both still leading active lives. Dad is now in his 80's.
