How did you all go on your hometown theme. I took pictures of both the city Perth and my local area Midland and just need to get them up on the blog.
This months photo challenge will be WEATHER. Try and look at this subject from an artistic point of view or try out some of those settings that are on your camera.
You might manage to capture unusual cloud formations, a portrait of someone drenched in the rain, a desert baking in the sun, a storm at sea, an animal trapped by flood. This can lead to a wide range of photos so good luck.
eg. Trying a new technique. Taking Lightening: with a compact camera you need to probably just hope that your shutter timing and the lightening flashes coincide. The best way to do this it to set the shutter for multiple pictures. Some cameras will take 3 pictures in a row and some will keep taking pictures continuously as long as you hold the shutter down.
If you have a SLR camera then set it to BULB (the shutter will stay open when you press the shutter) and then adjust the F stop so that not too much light is let in while the shutter is open. Once the lightening has happened you can release the shutter button. It may be possible to take several lightening strikes on the one picture frame.
Another method is to put the camera on bulb and then place cardboard in from of the lens, remove the cardboard when lightening occurs (your timing will need to be good). This cardboard method works particularly well for firework pictures.
